February 4, 2011
Coining, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Charlie Italiano to the newly created position of Technical Director. He assumes oversight for the company's engineering and process development functions at all three of Coining's facilities located in Montvale, NJ; Penang, Malaysia; and Casablanca, Morocco.
"Charlie joined us as Engineering Manager when we acquired SPM two years ago," explains Gary Holcomb, Coining's CEO. "He worked effortlessly on the integration of the two companies and was absolutely instrumental to our successful consolidation and relocation to Montvale from our former facilities in Saddle Brook, NJ and Armonk, NY."
"He is a dynamo," echoes Coining's President Ken Whited. "He makes things happen and gets stuff done, on time and within budget. Charlie is an absolute pleasure with which to work."
"Our relocation project consumed most of our technical resources last year," remarks Mr. Italiano. "Now that it is complete, our domestic operation is totally housed in an outstanding building, with a facility layout just the way we wanted it, and we can turn our attention to the next wave of engineering and technical challenges."
Charlie Italiano began his career as a product engineer at Duracell after graduating from the City University of New York with a BS in mechanical engineering. He later worked as a quality assurance manager at Clairex Electronics before joining SPM as quality assurance manager in 1989. He subsequently was promoted to director of operations. In 1998, he left SPM to become technical director at Sigmund Cohn, a position he held until 2006 when he returned to SPM as engineering manager.
