Coining, Inc. broke ground today on the interior build-out of its new domestic manufacturing facility and headquarters at 15 Mercedes Drive in Montvale, New Jersey USA. The company will relocate all of its employees and equipment currently at its Armonk, New York and Saddle Brook, New Jersey locations to Montvale early this fall.
"We have worked really hard on the site selection, design and pre-construction phases of our relocation project," explains Pete Pachella, Vice President – Manufacturing for Coining who cut the ceremonial ribbon. "It's time to make this happen. I can't wait to move in!"
"It is very satisfying to finally be in construction," echos Coining Engineering Manager Charlie Italiano who, along with Project Engineer Larry Monterulo, directed the interior build-out of the company's Armonk facility twelve years ago and has been intimately involved with the Montvale project as well. "This is going to be our home for a long time."
Coining selected Sweetwater Construction Corporation (www.sweetwatercorp.com), a NJ-based construction management and general contracting firm, to oversee construction for this project. Sweetwater has over thirty years of successful experience in new building and renovation programs throughout the New York Tri-State area. Bob Chemi, Sweetwater's Vice President – Interior Construction, will serve as Project Manager supported by Sweetwater Superintendent Frank Rossetti.
SNS Architects & Engineers, PC (www.sns-arch-eng.com) and The Walsh Company (www.walshcompany.com) served valuable roles during the design and pre-construction portions of the Montvale project. "John Lignos, Lorin Sonenshine and the team at SNS did a terrific job designing our manufacturing space and offices," exclaims Ken Whited, Coining's President. "John Mercurio and his associates from Walsh have served Coining well right from the start as our Owner's Representative.
Coining expects to complete construction in September and be fully operational at 15 Mercedes Drive in October. Employment is projected to be about 125 initially and could rise to approximately 150 during the next five years. Coining, Inc. is the largest manufacturer of gold tin and other solder and brazing preforms worldwide and a leading producer of bonding wire and ribbon, jumper chips, bonding pads, tabs, heat sinks, lead frames, solder spheres and cover assemblies for microelectronics packaging and assembly. From its manufacturing locations in North America, Asia and Africa, the company supplies more than 800 customers in over thirty countries.
